It has been about ten days since Robin Williams committed suicide and we kind of knew that things would start to get ugly pretty quickly. While Robin was crying financial ruin due to having to pay two ex-wives, Marsha Garces and Valerie Velardi, and his current wife, Susan Schneider, whose lifestyle he needed to maintain, the truth is that his estate now is worth an estimated $130 million. That’s an awful lot of cash and resources to divvy up and according to the Sept. 1st print edition of Life & Style Magazine his estate could be facing a lengthy court battle.

Let’s look at the obvious, while feeling alone Robin was in actuality rarely without a woman or two. He had three wives and numerous extramarital affairs so god only knows who may come back looking for a little extra. There are also questions about his mental state when he wrote his will. The actor had well-established issues and battled severe depression at times so anyone that has been cut from his will could easily petition the court, claiming that he wasn’t in his right mind while drawing up his final wishes. A claim like that could easily keep things tangled in court for a long time while everything is investigated.

Life & Style makes very valid points when it comes to his will but their source is MediaTakeOut which is more than a little crazy. Don’t get me wrong, MTO is a great urban site and their numbers don’t lie, they’re legit – but they just don’t fit into this topic really at all. When writing up a two page article on the fate of Robin’s will I would have expected the mag to use a hardcore legal source rather than a niche site. That’s like me being quoted on CNN about ISIS – it would make zero sense, right?
